Chapter 11 is all about teaching you how to research and find topics that would be easier for a person to write about. Braziller says the first thing a student must do in order to write a really good research paper is choose a topic after doing a good amount of research on it first. Also they point out that you must use reliable sources in order to know the argument you are making is a valid one. It is okay to use sites like Wikipedia to just familiarize yourself with a topic but when choosing topics that you are going to put into your annotated bibliography. She then also makes clear that if you chose a topic you must stick that that specific topic and venturing off task and talking about unrelated topics could really hurt the level of your argument. If you are stuck and can’t find a topic that interests you, you can also try brainstorming and using the tricks and tips she conveys for the reader. Once a student has finished all these steps then Braziller says that are able to begin their first draft of their research paper. I now feel more confident for my research paper after reading this and I know I have this source to come back to for guidance and reassurance.
