This piece by Anne Lamott is very inspirational and has some great points expressed through her example of writing her rough drafts. After reading this piece I know I’m not the only one that struggles with extremely bad rough drafts. Anne Lamott is a very published writer and even she has to write multiple drafts of one piece in order for it to get to the standard that she is known for. When reading rough drafts you have to expect it be choppy and full of mistakes but this helps you when it comes to writing the final one. When Lamott talks about doubting her self when she isn’t able to write is very relatable, that happens to most people when they aren’t performing at the level that’s expected of them. The mindset that Lamott conveys doesn’t only apply to writing papers though, in life if you want something to be good you have to work for and it might tae a couples tries but it will be worth it. Another point I drew from this piece was to not stress about the little mistakes and to just keep trying. I felt like this piece can encourage others to persevere when things don’t come out the way they should, you could always keep on trying to make them better.
